Ofori-Atta's Removal: I Have Not Invited 98 NPP MPs For Any Meeting - Ex-Prez Kufuor | Politics

The Office of former President John Kufuor has refuted publications in the media, both social and traditional media, to the effect that the former President has extended an invitation for a meeting with him to the almost a hundred NPP members of Parliament who are demanding the sack of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta ostensibly to dissuade them from their stance.
"We wish to bring to the attention of the general public that there is no truth to the said publications," Dr. Kwabena Osei Adubofour, Senior Aide and Spokesperson for Former President Kufuor said in a statement.
“The office of the former President vehemently detests the developing trend in disinformation that mischievously seeks to draw President Kufour into issues that he has not commented on,” the statement continued.
"At any time that Mr. Kufuor deems it fit to comment publicly on national issues, he would not hesitate to do so. But, he would definitely not be drawn in, on other people's terms and agenda," he concluded.
The majority MPs demanded the removal of both Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister and now dismissed Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.
In response to the calls from his own party's MPs, President Akufo-Addo urged the MPs to hold on till Ghana concludes negotiations with the IMF.
Meanwhile, the NPP MPs have said, they will not back the Minority's vote of censure against the embattled Minister.
