Former President John Dramani Mahama has paid homage to the reminiscence of the founding father of the opposition National Democratic Congress, the late Ft Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.
On twelfth November 2020, the nation was hit with the surprising and heart-rending information of the passing away of Ghana's longest serving Head of State.
The shock was deep and the unhappiness overwhelming. The grievance was interspersed with utter disbelief.
Described as a person who stood by his ideas with such deep dedication that by no means wavered, many took inspiration from Mr Rawlings' distinctive management and even thought of him their political godfather.
In a Facebook publish on Saturday, Mr Mahama touted the qualities of the previous NDC leader and held that even in dying"His (Rawlings) legacy lives on and continues to shape the moral compass of many."
"It is 2 years already for the reason that passing of President Jerry John Rawlings, mainly known as JJ.
He steered our nation for 19 years, throughout which period he laid a strong basis for our 4th Republic. In these stormy instances of financial uncertainty, he's remembered for his astute management in related circumstances prior to now.
His legacy lives on and continues to form the ethical compass of many."
