Its Still In Court I Have No Knowledge Of Out Of Court Settlement With Lilwin Martha Ankomah

Actress Martha Ankomah has denied reports that her colleague, actor Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lilwin, has sought an out-of-court settlement for their ongoing defamation case.

Speaking on Peace FM, Martha clarified that the case remains active in court, contrary to recent claims.

The clarification came in response to a report by GhOne TV, which suggested that an Accra High Court had been informed of Lilwin’s intention to settle the matter outside of court.

However, Martha Ankomah emphasised that neither Lilwin nor his legal team had approached her or her representatives with such a proposal.

“The matter is still in court, so I don’t want to talk much about it,” Ankomah stated in an interview with Kwasi Aboagye.

“The truth of the matter is that Lilwin has not approached me as being reported in the news. It is surprising to me someone reported that.”

The lawsuit stems from a viral video in which Lilwin made disparaging remarks about Ankomah, following her comments on Accra FM expressing lack of interest in collaborating with Kumawood actors due to their storylines.

Ankomah claims Lilwin’s statements damaged her reputation and that of the textile brand, GTP. She is seeking GHcent;5 million in damages, both compensatory and aggravated, as well as an apology, a retraction, and an injunction against further defamatory statements.

The defamation case continues as Martha pursues justice for what she describes as significant harm to her personal and professional image.

Lilwin acknowledged that humans are bound to offend each other, and it is his responsibility to accept his fault and apologise for it.

“If she felt offended by my comments, I humbly apologise. There’s no hate or bad blood,” he said.
