Not everyone is over the moon to welcome Lionel Messi to MLS as some team owners are frustrated over his Inter Miami signing, according to a report.
Messi touched down in South Beach on Tuesday ahead of his Inter Miami unveiling and is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year contract with Inter Miami, with an option for another season at David Beckham's team.
But, while the league is undoubtedly receiving a massive boost from Messi's arrival, not all MLS owners are said to be pleased.
Some club owners have said they have been kept in the dark over Messi's deal and are said to be frustrated with the league's lack of transparency, according to Sportico.
The World Cup winner agreed to join Inter Miami for a reported annual salary between $50 million and $60 million, much of which will be supplemented by Apple TV – the league's media partner.
