Passenger Dies Over ₵2 Trotro Fare Hike After Fighting Driver, Conductor | Social

A male passenger has died after preventing a bus conductor over a GH₵2 fare hike.
The incident passed off on the Lapaz bus terminal in Accra on Saturday, 29 October 2022.
The now-deceased passenger didn't perceive why he needed to pay GH₵2 additional for his common Lapaz to Pokuase journey for which he had all the time paid GH₵5.50 till that fateful night time when he was advised the fare had been elevated to GH₵7.50 .
The male passenger is claimed to have boarded the automobile from Lapaz heading to Pokuase and was advised the fare had been elevated from GH₵5.50 to GH₵7.50.
He refused to pay the brand new fare and saved complaining – a scenario that compelled the driving force of the bus to return all of the passengers to the Lapaz bus terminal.
After a number of agitations over the brand new fare by all of the passengers within the automobile, calm was restored.
On the driving force's orders, all of the passengers disembarked besides the now-deceased man.
His intransigence compelled the driving force, bus conductor, along with different drivers on the terminal, to pressure him out of the automobile.
A struggle broke out and the passenger was punched within the face, hit his head on the pavement and died.
The physique has been deposited on the morgue.
The police are investigating the matter.
