70 Of Agenda 111 Projects Near Completion Prez Akufo Addo

The execution of the government flagship proshy;gramme, Agenda 111, is on course as nearly 70 per cent of the projects are at different stages of completion, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said.

According to him despite the skepticism and doubt cast over his government’s ability to embark on such monumental undertaking, with barely one month for him to exit office, he had proven his critics wrong as almost 70 per cent of the hospitals are all nearing completion.

President Akufo-Addo disclosed this in Accra yesterday when he interacted with members of the various trade unions in the country as part of his thank you tour of the Greater Accra Region.

The unions present at the meetshy;ing included the Ghana Private Road Transport Unions (GPRshy;TU), Health Services Workers Union (HSWU), Ghana Registered Nurses, Midwives Association (GRNMA) and the Civil and Local Governments Staff Association Ghana (CLOGSAG), the Industrishy;al and Commercial Workers Union (ICU).

The rest were the Railway Workshy;ers Union (RWU), Cocoa Research Workers Union (CRWU), Timber Workers, Ports and Allied Workers Union (TWPAWU) and Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU).

President Akufo-Addo said the coming elections would offer Ghashy;naians the chance to make that crucial decision of whether to protect all the far-reaching policies of the government such as Agenda111 that sought to improve healthcare delivery in the country or not.

He explained that even though on the face value the major projshy;ects embarked on by his governshy;ment may not necessarily put monshy;ey into the pockets of people in terms of economic figures, those projects and programmes were real transformation indicators.

Canvassing for support for Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential candidate of the NPP, President Akufo-Addo said it was significant for all electorates to carefully weigh the policies of all the candidates especially that of the two forerunners.

He questioned why former Presshy;ident John Dramani Mahama had failed to put out a road map for his key policy for the election, 24-hour economy.

President Akufo-Addo noted that the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had no clear-cut direction on the policy he was touting as his flagship programme.

He therefore appealed to Ghashy;naians to choose credibility and well-focused policy and vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the lack of credibility and inconsisshy;tency.Ghanaian Times
