National Lottery Authority's (NLA) Good Causes Foundation has constructed four boreholes in the Sunyani West Constituency.
According to the Coordinator of NLA Good Causes Foundation, Ms Amma Frimpong, the quest to construct the borehole is a result of a request from Ms Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, a native of Odumase and the CEO of SIC Life. A total of four out of 10 mechanised boreholes have been constructed by the foundation to help give the people of Sunyani West access to potable drinking water.
The communities in Sunyani West that benefited from the borehole are; Chiraa Sawmill, Odumasi Gubre, Odumasi Bontee and Nsoatre.
Amma Frimpong, together with Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah and Nana Yeboa Pene II, Queen mother of Chiraa Traditional Council, commissioned the boreholes.
At the commissioning, Amma Frimpong stated that the NLA Good Causes Foundation was created to give back to society.
She cautioned parents to desist from sending their children below 18 years to go and stake lotto on their behalf.
Ms Frimpong also encouraged people to stake lotto with NLA but they should do so responsibly.
Nana Yeboa Pene II commended Ms Amma Frimpomaa Dwummah for the act of kindness towards Sunyani West Constituency. She said the people in the community had had challenges accessing portable drinking water for some years now. She praises NLA Good Causes and asked that they return to do more for Chiraa.
The Queen mother also thanked Amma Frimpomaa for always coming to Chiraa to help the town and its people.
When asked why she solicited for these boreholes, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah said “Growing up in Odumasi, I know how difficult it was for us to access good drinking water. Hearing about NLA Good Causes Foundation, I appealed to them to help us get some mechanized boreholes for communities in the Sunyani West Constituency. They approved ten mechanized boreholes,"
She pleaded with the communities that have benefitted from the boreholes to ensure that the boreholes are well-taken care so they serve their purpose.
