CorpsAfricaGhana Hosts Swearing In Ceremony for Third Cohort of Volunteers

CorpsAfrica/Ghana successfully held the Swearing-In Ceremony for its third cohort of Volunteers, marking the official transition of 44 young African graduates into a one-year Volunteering service.

This group, which is made up of 26 females and 18 males and includes six Exchange Volunteers from other African nations, embarks on a year-long journey to support rural communities across Ghana through community-led development initiatives.

After completing a rigorous six-week Pre-Service Training (PST), these Volunteers demonstrated the readiness, skills, and commitment required to serve in challenging rural settings. The Swearing-In Ceremony marked their official induction into service, with each Volunteer taking an oath to work alongside local communities, addressing crucial needs and driving sustainable alter.

The event, held at the British Council in Accra, brought together dignitaries from the government, international organizations, development partners, ambassadors, high commissioners, and board members. Distinguished guests were on hand to witness the Volunteers receive their charge to serve and take up the responsibility of empowering communities through small-scale, high-impact initiatives.

Some guests included Dr Tamu Daniel (Peace Corps Country Director), Rica Rwigamba (Mastercard Foundation’s Country Director) and Hon. David Quaye Annan (NDPC Vice Chairman), who delivered the keynote address.

CorpsAfrica Volunteers play an essential role in helping connect rural communities with vital resources and opportunities for development.

Over the next year, they will focus on facilitating projects identified by the communities themselves, working to improve livelihoods and strengthen local capacity. Founded in 2013, CorpsAfrica has expanded its operations to 10 countries across Africa, including Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Gambia, Uganda, and South Africa.
