Kwaku Osei Korankye Aseidu, popularly known as KOKA, who worked as a marketer for gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has been granted Two Thousand cedis bail with one surety.
The accused was remanded into police custody by an Accra Circuit Court on 19th September for allegedly threatening to harm Ohemaa Mercy.
According to Korankye Asiedu, the "Ote Me Mu" hit maker failed to include him in some recent jobs.
Offended by the action, the accused issued threats to Ohemaa Mercy to demand an amount of Eight Thousand Five Hundred Cedis. (GHC 8,500.00) for previous work done or face his wrath, saying she will see and that Ghana cannot contain the two of them.
When the case was called today, September 26, both prosecution and defence lawyers informed the court that, there were attempts for settlement but because the accused was remanded, discussions were inconclusive.
Norman Williams, lawyer for KOKA prayed the court to grant him bail to allow discussions on the settlement to progress.
He told the court that, KOKA is a well known personality in the creative arts industry whose continuous detention was affecting his work in the industry.
The presiding judge after listening to both submissions admitted him to bail.
The case has been adjourned to 23rd October.Philipa Atanga/Court Reporter/Despite Media
