UN Pushes for Financial Reforms To Address Challenges In Africa UN Resident Coordinator

The United Nations Resident Coordinator, Mr. Charles Abani, has indicated that the UN is advocating for reforms to ensure that the international financial architecture and institutions align with the realities of today’s world and effectively address the obstacles faced by developing countries, particularly in Africa.
During a press conference for the Pre-Summit of the Future, Mr. Charles Abani noted that the upcoming Summit for the Future, scheduled to take place on the 22nd of this month, will provide an chance for Africa to unite and support the UN's reform agenda.
He emphasized that Ghana’s participation in the summit highlights its enduring commitment to global leadership and innovation, as well as its desire to see Africa play a central role in shaping future global discussions.
Mr. Charles Abani also expressed his belief that the future of the world hinges on our collective efforts to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous future.
On his part, the Director-General of the National Development Planning Commission, Prof George Gyan-Baffour stated that, Ghana will at the summit present policy statements and position papers on key thematic areas including climate alter mitigations, human developments and digital transformation, youth empowerment, innovative financing and inclusive governance.
