The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has pledged to construct a 12-unit classroom block for constituents of Kintampo North if they vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the pending December polls.
Addressing constituents of Kintampo North at a campaign event, Kennedy Agyapong challenged the chief of the area to mobilise his people to vote for the NPP.
In return, he promised to build a classroom block for them to make up for their lack of development.
“Nana, you have challenged me, and I am challenging you in return: if you vote for the NPP in the December 7 elections, I will personally build a 12-unit classroom block as a reward,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.
Kennedy Agyapong highlighted some of the achievements brought to Kintampo North under the current government, contrasting them with those of past administrations.
He emphasized how several indigenes of Kintampo North have been appointed to prominent roles under the Akufo-Addo-led government.
He pointed out that despite voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for 32 years, the only significant achievement previously recorded from there was a deputy ministerial role.
“You have voted for years, and I have personally come to this constituency to campaign, but you deceived me by not voting for us [NPP]. The chief is advocating for development in the constituency, and he said that after 32 years of voting, the only achievement you have gained is a deputy minister role given to someone from Kintampo North.
“However, several indigenes of Kintampo North have been appointed to prominent roles under the Akufo-Addo government, including the Director-General of Immigration and the Controller-General, who oversees the country’s monetary reserves. After all this, what more do you want us to do for you?” he quizzed.
