Interior Minister, Henry Quartey has issued a stern caution to the Minority Leader of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, over his allegations regarding the recruitment of people into the security services.
The Minority Leader alleged that each parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party has been given thirty (30) slots to fill the security services with their own people.
But the Interior Minister has vehemently denied the allegations, describing it as baseless and untrue.
In an interview on Peace FM's flagship programme "Kokrokoo", the Minister recounted the effects of these allegations on the ruling party and his outfit.
He explained what Ato Forson has said is misleading stressing there is no candidate that has been given such slots, hence if the correction is not made, it may get into the heads of the constituents and Ghanaians at large and affect their campaigns.
To him, these allegations are a ploy to mar the campaign for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become Ghana's next President but emphasized this plot by the NDC won't succeed.
"Recruitment means a lot to people. So, if his candidate has 30 slots and it doesn't benefit them, they won't do the campaign again. If this is a tactic to mar Bawumia's campaign, it will not work," he stated categorically.
