Ghana Water Limited (GWCL) has announced ongoing water supply disruptions in the eastern part of Greater Accra, affecting areas such as Dodowa, Oyibi, Frafraha, Adenta, Madina, Ashongman, Haatso, La, Osu, Kanda, Airport Residential Area, Legon, and surrounding communities.
The disruptions, which began on Sunday, August 25, are due to a burst in the transmission line from the Kpong Treatment Plant to the Dodowa Booster Station.
After initial repairs were completed, further issues were identified, necessitating an additional shutdown.
The Chief Manager of GWCL, Stanley Martey in a statement assured the public that engineers are working diligently to replace the weakened section of the transmission line.
He urged consumers to conserve the limited water available until supply is fully restored.
The statement further disclosed that the GWCL has put measures in place to minimize the impact on affected areas, with the repairs expected to be completed by tomorrow, August 28, 2024, when water supply will resume.
"The management of GWCL wishes to assure the public that the situation is under control and everything humanly possible is being done to complete the repair work and restore supply", he added.graphiconline
