Our Existence Reduces Unemployment In The Country, Give Us Placement - Private School President To Government | Education

The Vice President of Bright Senior High School in Kukurantumi in the Eastern region, Mr. Dominic Acquah has appealed to the government through the ministry of education to seek to it that students who complete junior high schools are fairly posted to both government schools and private schools to increase students enrollment in private senior high schools in Ghana as well as to help reduce congestion in government senior high schools.

According to the Vice President of Bright Senior High School, Mr. Dominic Acquah, who further suggested that because of the free SHS policy at least government should cater for the feeding of such students who will be posted to private senior high schools whiles they pay school fees to the school so that the benefit that the public schools get will trickle to the private schools as well.

He highlighted that private schools participation in Ghana's education sector has contributed to the reduction of unemployment problem in the country since private schools provide employment to majority of Ghanaian youth.

Hence he urged the government to support private senior high schools and consider posting students to private senior high schools to ensure equity and fairness while ensuring that education thrive in the country.

This was contained in a statement he read at the time the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Education Service honored Bright Senior High School as the Best Performing Private Senior High School in the Municipality and Eastern region at large.

The School was also honored with the West African Heroes of Distinction Awards as the Best Private Senior High School in Ghana for 2021/2022 academic year.

Speaking on behalf of the Eastern Regional Director of Education, Mr. Jonathan Ntow, commended the founding members of Bright Senior High School and explained that the liberalization of the education sector has allowed private participation in the country to contribute enormously to national development and private schools in Ghana over the years has contributed greatly to the education sector.

Mr. Jonathan Ntow continued by saying , the emergence of Bright Senior High School as the Best Private Senior High School in Ghana for the 2021/2022 academic year is an indication of it consistent outstanding performance demonstrated over the years.

He therefore called on Management and Staff of the school to ensure the smooth running of the school regardless of the challenges that confront the school.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa North Municipality, Hon. Alhaji Umar Bodinga said as the Chairman of the Municipal Education Oversight Committee (MEOC) and upon a thorough assessment of the performance of second cycle institutions in the municipality, it clearly indicates that the performance of Bright Senior High School in the WASSCE exams in the past three year out stood any other second cycle school in the municipality.

The MCE reiterated that the school's recent performance in the 2022 WASSCE result where 77% of the candidates had from 6As to 8As has raised the image of the Abuakwa North Municipality therefore as the MCE he personally pledged to support some selected needy but brilliant students who excelled in the exams to continue their tertiary education.
