The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Frank Abrokwah, has commended Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, for his relentless commitment to ensuring the successful completion of a Police Station at Ohwim Amanfrom to support the Ghana Police Service.
The station, he said, would come in handy in the effort to address the security concerns of the rapidly increasing population and to a large extend, expand the socio-economic activities in Bantama.
The facility, which is the third to be commissioned by Mr. Asenso-Boakye in Bantama has a charge office, offices and a conference room as well as washrooms.
Speaking at the commissioning of the new station on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the Regional Commander noted that the facility has come at the right time and Asenso-Boakye deserves to be in the helm of office to do more for the community.
In his remarks, Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, indicated that increasing population comes with a responsibility. For this reason, he has undertaken steps to prioritize security in the constituency, by constructing both Bohyen District Police headquarters and Ahenbronum Police station, aimed at strengthening the overall security within the constituency. He further seized the chance to commend the Queenmother of Akusu, Oheneyere Ama Achiaa for laying the foundation for this project.
“One significant issue I identified prior to taking office was the perennial flood at Atafoa-Bridge. Today, I am proud to say that this project has come to fruition, as we can all attest”, he added.
The Bantama legislator is of the firm belief that the various projects accomplished within the span of three years will serve as a testament to his leadership on Saturday when delegates of the NPP vote to choose a new parliamentary candidate for the party.
