Following the revelation, the Vice President registered his displeasure over Charles Adu Boahen allegedly utilizing his title in alleged shady offers.
"My consideration has been drawn to a video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas (as posted on his social media deal with) displaying the Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, apparently utilizing my title, inter alia, to hawk affect and gather cash from supposed buyers. I wish to state that if what the minister is alleged to have mentioned is precisely captured within the video, then his place as a minister of state is untenable.
"He should be dismissed summarily and investigated. I am not aware of any such meeting held by Minister Adu Boahen or a supposed “appearance fee”. My most cherished asset in life is my integrity and I will not allow anyone to use my name to engage in corrupt activities", the Veep posted on his Facebook.
Dismissal
An announcement signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin said that “After being made conscious of the allegations leveled towards the Minister within the exposé, 'Galamsey Economy', the President spoke to Mr Adu Boahen, after which he took the choice to terminate his appointment, and in addition to refer the matter to the Special Prosecutor for additional investigation".
Charles Adu Boahen Did It For His Own Self
Speaking in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" present, Dr. Gideon Boako said the Vice President and his workplace does not take calmly the accusation by Charles Adu Boahen within the Anas exposé.
“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that's fine. He's not really, he's not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020,” Charles Adu Boahen is quoted to have mentioned.
He emphasised that Dr. Bawumia will not be joyful as a result of his integrity has been introduced into query as a result of issues that Mr. Adu Boahen reportedly mentioned about him.
"With us who know the Vice President and knowing his behavior, for me, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen made these things up for his personal gains . . . I don't know what inspired him to say those things, to say it was intentional or out of indiscretion or whatever, but the question is that nothing of that goes on at the office of the Vice President," Dr. Gideon Boako said.
When requested if the Vice President helps Mr. Adu Boahen's dismissal or not, he replied; "It is right that the President has sacked him."
