The Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor has on Saturday, twelfth November 2022, co-chairing the primary ministerial assembly of the Forests and Climate Leaders' Partnership (FCLP) with the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, Secretary John Kerry, because the Minister's last participation within the ongoing COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The Meeting which was attended by twenty-eight (28) Ministers and 5 observer nations, was to develop a framework for 2023 and past to attain the aims of the Partnership.
In his remarks, Hon. Jinapor pledged the dedication of the Government of President Akufo-Addo to work with members of the Partnership to ship forests and nature-based options to local weather change.
He additionally assured that he'll use his management on the brand new Partnership to showcase Ghana's local weather actions and that of different nations as they synergize to work on addressing forest loss.
He mentioned forests and nature-based options can ship as much as a 3rd of worldwide local weather options, and "Ghana, as a respected member of the international community, is fully committed to supporting global climate action".
