The management of the New Patriotic Party, following broader consultations and engagements with stakeholders, has resolved and hereby directs all members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament to abstain from a scheduled vote of censure being sought by the Minority Caucus in opposition to Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta , Minister for Finance.

By this directive, the management of the Majority Caucus particularly the Whips are to make sure that no Member of the Majority Caucus partakes on this train by the Minority Group in Parliament

While the National Executive physique acknowledges the prevailing socio-economic circumstances within the nation and the necessity for pressing remedial interventions, it's our utmost place that the demand of the NDC-led Minority Caucus is ill-intended and aimed toward derailing government's efforts at resolving present socio-economic upheavals.

The management acknowledges that the Minister for Finance is the leader of government's negotiation crew with the International Monetary Fund. Considering that negotiation with the IMF is sort of accomplished, the National Executive physique of the Party strongly believes that the removing of the lead particular person spearheading the negotiation could adversely influence the progress made up to now.

It is price noting that when comparable calls have been made for the pinnacle of Mr. Seth Tepker, the then Minister for Finance throughout the socio-economic turbulence below the erstwhile Mahama administration in 2015, the NDC-led Majority Caucus objected to these calls and rose to the protection of Mr. Tekper, a transparent indication that the NDC lacks credibility on this matter.

Accordingly, neither the NPP nor its Members of Parliament will lend assist to this mischievous transfer by the NDC legislators as it's one among their many ill-motivated and self-serving however unpatriotic strikes to sabotage the NPP government and frustrate the administration of the nation .

The management of the NPP needs to guarantee our Members of Parliament and the Ghanaian populace that there are ongoing inner engagements aimed toward addressing authentic considerations expressed by numerous stakeholders concerning the administration of the financial system, together with requires the resignation or dismissal of the Minister for Finance .
