Parliament Resumes Sitting From Long Break To Prepare For 2024 Budget Kyei Mensah Bonsu

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, has disclosed that the commencing of sitting today, Tuesday, October 31, 2023, is ushering in the Third Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
He revealed that key among issues the House will consider will be the 2024 budget which will be presented by the finance minister in the coming days.
Speaking on Okay fm's Ade Akye Abia programme, the Majority Leader explained the presentation of the 2024 budget has become essential because government needs to provide immediate assistance to the affected victims of the Volta Dam spillage.
"There is no emergency funds for unknown disasters and as such funds have not been allocated for same so it is only proper that they are catered for in the 2024 budget so that government can assist in the immediate recovery of properties affected by the spillage to enable residents bounce back to normal life," Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu said.
This is the Third Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
Parliament went on recess on August 3, 2023.
