Ghana coach Chris Hughton has praised his side for demonstrating high spirit in the camp.

The coach has since early this week, supervised the team's preparations in Accra for the upcoming game against Madagascar in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

A favorable scoreline in the Madagascar fixture will plant Ghana's foot firmly for their qualification for next year's tournament scheduled for Cote d'Ivoire.

Last Monday, the Stars regrouped and continued training on Tuesday and yesterday.

But, a fresh injury setback hit the team, ruling out defender Gideon Mensah after Inaki Williams and defender Alexander Djiku picked injuries before the roll call.

The former Brighton Hove Albion manager said after Tuesday's training, “For me, the most important thing is getting results. This is the most important thing, so I continually have to judge the level of the squad and utilize my experience and knowledge of the local teams to improve. There will be a balance.”

Hughton noted that he and his coaching staff would carefully evaluate the available players and select the best options for the task ahead.

He expressed satisfaction with the team's spirit and morale leading up to the Madagascar game, as the players are determined to secure a victory.

He added, “Generally, the morale is very good. The concentration is on the football match, and that is winning a football match.”

The Stars appear focused on the task at hand and determined to emerge victorious, as they strive to qualify for the Cote d'Ivoire tourney next January.

The Madagascar clash is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
