Since Shirley Frimpong-Manso and her production house, Sparrow Pictures, started making movies and TV series some 20 years ago, she has been 'reeling' in some good productions and nothing seems to stop her.
She has melted the hearts of movie lovers with productions such as Perfect Picture, Adams Apple, Contract, Dede, Devil in the Detail, Shampaign and Potato Potato, among others.
And she has worked with actors, including Lydia Forson, Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Okoro, Nadia Buari, Salma Munim, Joycelyn Dumas, John Dumelo and Adjetey Anang, among others
Her latest production Madame starring Jocelyn Dumas, Salma Mumin, Habiba Sinare, Jasmine Baroudi and Luckie Lawson premiered on May 8 on Akwaaba Magic on Dstv and GOtv.
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz on what kept her going even when the movie industry was not as vibrant as before, Ms Frimpong-Manso said her audience inspire her to keep at it.
“Every new project I do is a new challenge for me. I pay attention to every detail so that I can improve on my next production and also get my audience to believe in me and love what I do.
“If you don't joke with your audience, you will always come out with some great stuff for them to stick with you all the time and that has been my secret. I always want to challenge myself and come out with something extraordinary that will blow the minds of my clients,” she said.
Ms Frimpong-Manso added that she also worked hard and there is no complacency in her life.
“I always want to do more, I am not satisfied anytime I bring out something new. I know it could be better and the fact that I always strive for excellence has brought me this far.
“Although it is a lot of hard work, I don't tell myself I know it all because of the experience I have. I put in a lot in production to get everything right.
