It was an atmosphere of excitement, shouting, dancing, singing, cheering and 'partying' at the Rock City Hotel night club on Saturday night through Sunday dawn when patrons of this year's Kwahu Easter celebration were entertained by one of Ghana's celebrated highlife musicians, Abrantie Daniel Amakye Dede.
Patrons including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo were thrilled to the stellar performances by the Iron Boy hitmaker.
The veteran artist who was in his element performed many songs from his repertoire such as Iron Boy, Odo Da Baabi, Sika Ne Barima, and Dabi Dabi Ebeye Yie which kept most of the patrons on the dance floor throughout his performance.
The veteran artist appeared on stage at exactly 12:34 am in an all-white kaftan, black shoe, a hat and a golden necklace.
Backed by his band, the Iron Boy hitmaker performed for over two hours nonstop and also interacted with the elated audiences who were capturing iconic moments on phone while dancing to the soul soothing music.
Dubbed “Artiste night with Amakye Dede,” the event was part of activities marking this year's Kwahu Easter Celebration in the Eastern Region.
The event also brought together some bigwigs in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), including the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua; and the National Organiser; Henry Nana Boakye also known as Nana B.
Some patrons who interacted with Graphic Online said their expectations were met and that they had so much fun and were looking forward to artist night again in 2024.
