Sadiq Abdulai Abu, former CEO of 3Media Networks and candidate for the Okaikoi Central seat in parliament, has intimated that the creative sector may provide significant wealth for the nation if it is correctly handled.
He said that the government shouldn't play about with the business because it has the capacity to support economic development while speaking on Adom TV's Showtyme with Andy Dosty.
He added that the creative industries create work for millions of people in other countries, so they should be fully exploited.
“The creative industry has the potential to generate about $5b. It doesn't have to be toyed with. We have to empower it. Multimedia alone is a part of the creative industry, you are employing about 1,000 people directly and others indirectly, so which government wouldn't want to create that?”
