I Am Still Struggling For Sponsorship After 15 Years of Doing Gospel Music - Celestine Donkor | Music

Ghanaian gospel artist, Celestine Donkor is lamenting about her struggles to secure sponsorship for events even after 15 years of active music.
According to the artist, who is gearing up for the 10th edition of her Celestial Praiz on Monday, March 6, nothing comes easy so she will keep pushing.
“Nothing comes easy in this life oo. So we got to keep pushing.
“Over 15yrs of "ACTIVE" gospel music, we still struggle for sponsorship, 'some' media support and even 'some' colleagues support... #CelestialPraiz10,” she posted on Facebook recently.
Responding to Celestine's comments, renowned sound engineer and music producer, Fred Kyei Mensah popularly known as Freddyma is certain that getting sponsorship should have been the easiest but that the opposite is the case for gospel artists.
“I read on the Facebook page of my adorable daughter, gospel minister, Celestine Donkor II , about her being in the industry for about 15 years which to me, it's her 20th this year, and the difficulty in getting sponsorship for her concerts.
“The gospel industry and terrain, is a difficult one to get support because of the limitations some companies, individuals and organizations have put on it as being doctrinal and divisive.
“Because of the difficulty in the interpretation of the gospel with different churches having diverse doctrines of the Christian faith, makes it difficult for one to get help.
“For instance, it would be difficult for a Saturday believing church member to invest in the craft of a Sunday going church member and vice-versa. Some people will deny this but, it is something I have experienced severally in my 38 years in the music business as a professional.
“I recorded a gospel artist who was fortunate to get a sponsor. As soon as her sponsor got to know the religious denomination she belonged to, he told her that, there were equally beautiful girls in his church who were looking for the same opportunity and could only help her if she joins his church. Wow look?
“Celestine Donkor II, do the little that you can now within your budget and hope for the best when your restaurant, studio and other businesses take shape and sales pick up. All the best. The lord is your shepherd,” he posted on Facebook.
