Stop Monetizing Our Content On Youtube - Lekzy Decomic Slams Bloggers | general-entertainment

Award-winning stand-up comedian, Lekzy DeComic has slammed bloggers and content creators for their unprofessional acts of uploading performances of comedians on their platforms without permission.
Venting his spleen in a Facebook post earlier today, February 20, the comedian called them out for monetizing such contents to the loss of comedians.
He noted that the practice needed to end since comedy shows were comparable in certain respects to movies since they could not be distributed to a large audience without the creators' consent.
"Please bloggers, stand comedy shows are not like musical shows, stop recording performances and putting them on YouTube without the consent of the comedian. It's not cool and unprofessional.
Just as you can't put someone's movie out for mass consumption without the permit of the producer, that's the same way you can't put someone's comedy set out on your monetized channel. Comedy specials are awarded on Oscar's because they classify it all as movies because it tells a story. Let's do better."
In response to the post, some of his colleagues including OB Amponsah who had earlier lamented about same practice called out bloggers guilty of the act.
OB's support for the post and that of other comedians who wrote under Lekzy's post is an indication that the development is quite worrying for Ghanaian stand-up comedians.
