The council once more referred to as on the Controller and Accountant General's division and the Ministry of Finance to pay all tier-two excellent arrears to the custodians of the funds earlier than the top of November 2022.

According to the council, the funds have been in arrears for six months and referred to as on the stakeholders to fund the Ghana Education Service Occupational Pension Scheme (GESOPS) by November to “save members who retire from post-retirement anxieties and uncertainties.”

As a part of the International Monetary Fund conditionalities, the council mentioned the government can be endeavor a debt restructuring program underneath which home bondholders can be affected.

According to the council, “GESOPS' funds that are the most important tier-two pensions in Ghana can be affected badly with lecturers and academic employees shedding a lot of cash once they retire.

“The council, therefore, calls on the government to exempt pension funds from the said restructuring, taking cognizance of the fact that pensions in the country are already nothing to write home about,” he appealed.
