Last Batch Of 'Kayaye' Students Sponsored By Jewel In The Street Foundation Graduates From GH Media | General News

The last batch of students picked on the streets, who are head potters popularly called 'kayaye', by the Jewels In The Street Foundation have graduated with flying colors at the GH Media shcool.

It could be recalled that thirteen (13) out of the first twenty (20) students graduated last year beaming with smiles as their aim of fulfilling their dreams were made possible by the Foundation.

The Co-founder of Jewels In The Street Foundation, Mrs. Mavis Leonards, during the graduation advised head potters (kayaye) not to look down on themselves.

According to her, their destinies can change in a day for good when they meet their destiny helpers who are willing to take them out from the streets.

She appealed to the public not to neglect the needs of head potters stressing they can become beneficial to the society.

Mrs. Mavis Leonards gave this advice when seven kayayes - the last batch of the 20 girls - graduated from the GH Media School in Accra.

The seven graduates were fully sponsored by Foundation to study courses in Media, Fashion and Cosmetology.

It also took care of their rent, medical care and other important expenses.

One of the seven who graduated emerged the Best Fashion Student in the school.

Speaking to the media in an interview, the beneficiaries expressed their joy to Peace News.
