Ghanaian Canadian Leader Honored With King Charles III Coronation Medal

Dr. Hilda Fankah-Arthur, a prominent Ghanaian-Canadian citizen, was among the select group of Albertans awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal on December 5th, 2024.

The ceremony, held at the Alberta Government House, celebrated the achievements of individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and the province.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a distinct distinction in the Canadian honors system. It is the only medal specifically created to commemorate the coronation of a monarch. With only 30,000 medals to be awarded across Canada, receiving this honour is a testament to the recipient's exceptional service and commitment to their communities.

Dr. Fankah-Arthur, President and founder of the Center for Intellectual Excellence, was recognized for her unwavering dedication to promoting diversity and leadership. Her work, including the annual World Diversity and Leadership Conference, has fostered dialogue and created opportunities for marginalized groups.

The medal presentation acknowledged Dr. Fankah-Arthur's significant contributions to "the dialogue on leadership and strength in diversity," underscoring the impact of her work in building a more inclusive society.
