Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is confident that his party will secure a strong majority in Ghana's ninth Parliament following the upcoming December 7 election.
At the party's final rally at Zurak Park in Madina, Accra, Nketia emphasised that securing a decisive electoral victory is imperative for the NDC to successfully focus on implementing vital institutional reforms in the country.
“I am convinced that we are returning to government with a very strong majority in Parliament,” Nketia declared to a jubilant crowd of supporters.
In his address, Mr. Nketia highlighted the importance of governance, accountability, and the effective management of natural resources saying: “As far as I am concerned, the reset of our state institutionsmdash;those of governance, accountability, and the management of our natural resourcesmdash;is far more significant than isolated development projects.”
“If we get the institutions right, then any development we undertake will be lasting,” he added.
