Destruction of Western and Eastern Region Ballot Papers We Shall Audit All Before Its Destruction NDC

Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has revealed that the NDC will do due diligence by critically auditing all ballot booklets before the EC destroys them. 

According to Dr. Omane Boamah, errors appearing in the electoral process has become one too many, adding that, the EC should understand that the NDC shall thoroughly audit each ballot booklet earmarked for destruction in the Western and Eastern regions before the intended destruction takes place. 

Dr. Omane Boamah's statement comes on the wheels of an earlier press release by the EC, dated 3rd December, 2024, where the Commission stated its decision to destroy the recalled ballot papers for Western and Eastern regions at Sekondi-Takoradi and Koforidua respectively. 

The Commission noted that the destruction of the recalled papers will be destroyed on 3rd December, 2024. 

However, Dr. Omane Boamah, posting on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024 wrote, "Considering the volumes involved, the said destruction of ballot papers cannot take place today. The commission must never forget they lost our trust long ago."
