Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a passionate appeal to members of the party to forgive one another and work hard to secure an emphatic victory on December 7.
The party winning this year’s general elections to better the country, he said, should remain the primary goal of all party members and supporters.
Afectionately called NAPO made this appeal while addressing a campaign rally at the forecourt of the Okyenhene Palace in Kyebi, on Wednesday, 27th November, 2024.
He implored them to unite saying “you will recall that in 2008, despite all the good works of President Kufuor, we lost the elections because we didn’t do enough to unite our ranks. We cannot repeat that mistake. We must realize that we can only win elections when we are united and when that happens, the NDC cannot compete with us in any elections. So, let us be guided and learn to forgive each other for party’s sake.”
NAPO was at the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi in the organization of his grand uncle, H.E President John Agyekum Kufuor, the Second President of the Fourth Republic, on a courtesy visit to the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II.
The purpose of their visit was to congratulate the Okyenhene on his 25th anniversary commemoration and to seek for his blessings and wise counsel.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II gave his endorsement and blessings to the party regarding their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's pursuit to win the December 7 elections.
He also commended President Kufuor for the many social interventions he implemented during his tenure who, he noted, laid a solid foundation for Ghana’s socioeconomic transformation.King Edward Ambrose Washman/
