A Design To Scare Ghanaians And Justify The Violence Theyre Plotting Themselves Ahiagbah Fires Back At NDC

Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has described intended vote-rigging allegations made by the National Democratic Congress against the ruling party, as a deliberate attempt to prepare the minds of Ghanaian of the latter's imminent electoral loss.

Richard Ahiagbah, posting on his official X page, maintained that the NDC's allegation of a grand NPP plot to rig or create mayhem is vain and lacks merit.

Mr Ahiagbah's comments comes in the wake of a recent press conference held at the NDC's headquarters on Tuesday, 19th November, 2024, where the party's Communications Director, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, alleged that the NPP is conniving with Brigadier General Michael Opoku to rig the upcoming December 7 general elections. 

According to him, rather than misleading Ghanaians, he would urge the NDC to admit that their campaign is not going as unexpected.

“This is simply a design to scare Ghanaians and justify the violence they're plotting themselves. See this video by the NDC Obuasi Youth's promise of violence.

"The NPP is not a violent party. The NPP does not have revolutionary roots as the NDC. The NPP is committed to peace and will do its part to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections on December 7,” Richard Ahiagbah said.

At the press conference on Tuesday, Sammy Gyamfi claimed the military officer is orchestrating a victory for the NPP so that he can become the next Chief of Defense Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces. 

In view of this, the NDC served notice it will petition the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for thorough investigations to be carried out to avoid any potential violence in the upcoming elections. 

“We are going to ensure that the King of the Ashanti people, who is very much interested in the peace of our nation and the peace of the processes leading to, during, and after the December 7 election, we will officially draw his attention to these developments because the headquarters of the operation of this guy [Brigadier General Michael Opoku] is Kumasi.



The NDC's allegation of a grand NPP plot to rig or create mayhem is vain and lacks merit. Rather than mislead Ghanaians, the NDC should admit its campaign is not going well, and they know defeat is imminent for the NDC.
