The immediate past National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, says the economic policies of the government are responsible for the difficulties confronting the people of Ghana.
Addressing a gathering in Battor in the North Tongu Constituency, as part of the Volta Regional campaign tour of the NDC’s vice presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, on Tuesday, Dr Ofosu Ampofo described the economic policies of the government as “weapons of mass destruction”.
He said the economic policies of the government have resulted in several fatalities.
He cited a public statement made by the Chief Executive Officer of the KAMA Group of Companies, Mr Michael Agyekum Addo, ahead of his demise, that he was enduring excruciating hardship as a result of the bad economic policies of the government.
"Dr Bawumia's policies are like weapons of mass destruction. They have destroyed banks, microfinance and have thrown several people out of jobs and we are not going to allow him to lie to Ghanaians again", Dr Ofosu Ampofo said.
He said it is no surprise that the chairman of the government’s Economic Management Team, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has abandoned issues about the economy and now claiming to champion digitalisation.
Dr Ofosu Ampofo said the government’s digitalisation agenda is built on the infrastructure backbone and fibre optics provided by the former Mahama administration
Touching on the upcoming elections, the immediate past NDC Chairman said this year’s election is about trust in leadership, adding “the Presidential candidate of the NDC, Mr John Dramani Mahama, reigns supreme when it comes to a leader that Ghanaians can trust”.
He urged the electorate to vote massively for Mr Mahama in the presidential election and urged North Tongu voters to cast their ballot for Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for serving the constituency well.King Edward Ambrose Washman/
