Dec 7 Elections Bawumia Stands Tall Amongst His Opponents Miracles Aboagye

The spokesperson for the 2024 Bawumia campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has asserted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has an exceptional performance as Vice President much more than the performance of former President John Mahama.

According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Dr. Bawumia has made great strides as vice president, earning him the accolade of the most visible and impactful vice president in Ghana’s democratic history.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Monday, November 4, 2024, Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated that, through the enviable leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the government has been able to implement robust mechanisms to address the economic obstacles being faced by Ghanaians as a result of the depreciation of the Ghana cedi.  

Speaking further, Miracles Aboagye stated that he is not oblivious of the obstacles confronting the Ghana cedi but argued that the Ghana cedi is still performing better in the tenure of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government much more than it was during the erstwhile Mahama era.

Reflecting on Dr. Bawumia’s well-known remark during Mahama’s tenure mdash; “You can engage in all the propaganda you want, but if the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you” mdash; Miracles Aboagye noted that at that time, the exchange rate was around GHcent;4 to a dollar.

Expressing optimism about the Dr. Bawumia’s chances of winning the upcoming December, 2024 polls, Dennis Aboagye said that Dr. Bawumia stands out amongst all his competitors on the ballot paper.

“ . . Between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Mahama, the two persons and the two governments, we have evidence of a government that has deliberately put in place mechanisms and structures to ensure that we rebuild these weak fundamentals to ensure that we will be able to fix this permanently.”

Commenting on Dr. Bawumia’s famous position on the exchange rate exposing the weak fundamentals, Dennis Abogaye said, “He’s (Bawumia) always insisted that that statement he made then is still true and remains and it hasn’t changed. The statement was not meant to flaw anybody. It was meant to make a statement about the structure of our economy."
