Foundation To Support Underprivileged Muslims In Osino Launched

Widows, orphans, and the less privileged in Muslim communities have often received limited support from society, as economic obstacles make it challenging for relatives to offer consistentof assistance has, in part, led to increasing instances of deviant behavior among some Muslim youth, which, unfortunately, contributes to negative stereotypes about Muslims in the country.

In response to this issue, a group of Muslim women in Akyem Osino, located in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region, has established a foundation dedicated to supporting the underprivileged within the Muslim community.

At the launch and fundraising event for the initiative, Vice Founder Ramatu Yahaya highlighted that the limited support given to the less privileged in Muslim communities has negatively impacted the Zongo sized that many brilliant but needy students and others who required assistance were neglected, leading some to stray into unproductive paths.

“This should never have been the case,” she stated, stressing the importance of support for vulnerable individuals in these communities.

Yahaya also noted that some widows have died because they lacked the essential assistance needed to survive.

The foundation aims to address this gap and provide vital support to those in need.

The foundation’s patron, Iddrisu Zackari, popularly known as Baya, a small scale Miner has pledged his full commitment to help sustain the initiative by offering financial assistance.

His support is intended to ensure the foundation can achieve its goals and make a positive impact.

The Chief of Osino Zongo, Alhaji Zakari Mohammed, also praised the group for taking this commendable step toward addressing issues facing the Zongo communities, recognizing the foundation’s potential to make a lasting difference.Michael Akrofi/Ghana
