Vice President and Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged voters in Asunafo South to alter their style of voting from skirt and blouse to a unified voting system.
Previous political records show that while the NPP has consistently secured victories in presidential elections within the constituency, same cannot be said of the parliamentary as its seat is being occupied by the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Opoku.
As part of the campaign tour, the “Big blue bus” made its stop at Sankore as the flagbearer interacted with party members, traditional rulers as well as the stakeholder’s within the Asunafo constituency.
Dr. Bawumia, after introducing the Parliamentary candidate for Asunafio South, Francis Adusei Opoku to the constituents, promised that if he is voted into power come December 7, 2024, NPP’s parliamentary Member will play a vital role in his government.
“Vote for me because I will improve your lives. Everybody knows that in Asunafo South, you always vote for NPP in the presidential election but you don’t vote for us in the parliamentary election. But I want you to alter that in 2024, stop voting skirt-and-blouse and vote straight for us in both presidential and parliamentary elections.
“I want the people of Sankore to start changing that pattern and vote for Adusei so that I can add him in my next government. Don’t disappoint us this year we are both number 1,” he appealedKobina Darlington/
