Ghanas Mohammed Kudus Suspended For Three Games In England

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus will miss West Ham United’s next three games in the English Premier League due to suspension.

Kudus, who joined the Hammers last summer picked up a red card in West Ham United’s game against Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Stars midfielder was sent off in the 86th-minute mark of the game which ended 4-1 in favour of Tottenham.

Kudus, who led the Black Stars against Sudan during the 2025 AFCON qualification double-header clashed with Micky van de Ven as he appeared to have kicked out whilst the defender was on the floor.

The Ghanaian international was initially given a yellow card, but it was rightfully upgraded to a straight red card following a VAR review.

Having received the marching orders, the former Ajax star will miss his sides’ next three games against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Everton in the Premier League.

Kudus opened the floodgate for the London-based club after just 18 minutes into the thrilling clash but the former UEFA Champions League finalist staged a strong comeback to secure a resounding home win.

The home team pulled parity in the 36th-minute mark through Dejan Kulusevski after an assist from England international James Madisson as the first half ended in a draw.

However, a spirited performance from the host in the second half saw Tottenham snatch victory over the Hammers.

Mali international Yves Bissouma found the net in the 52nd minute to extend the lead for Tottenham before goalkeeper Alphonse Areola scored an own goal three minutes later to make it 3-1 for the host.

Tottenham continued their dominance in the game, with captain Heung-Min Son scoring in the 60th minute to seal victory for his outfit.

The 24-year-old midfielder has now scored two goals in eight Premier League appearances for the Hammers this season.
