Galamsey NDC Behind Foreigners Destroying The Water Bodies Well Go After Them Dr Ayew Afriyie Vows

The Middlebelt Coordinator of the 2024 National Campaign Team of the New Patriotic Party for the General Elections, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie has maintained that his party will ensure all water bodies are protected from illegal miners, widely known as ‘galamsey’.
According to him, the fight against the canker has been politicized, making it challenging to see positive results despite strict measures by the Akufo-Addo-led government over the years.
He accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of importing foreigners to destroy the water bodies to give the government a bad image in their quest to win the December 7 elections.
But Dr Ayew Afriyie warned that the tactic by the NDC will be regretted after invoking curses on wrongdoers.
"They [NDC] are in Accra and confusing the masses that small-scale mining is the same as river bodies mining. Those destroying the water bodies are the river bodies miners. These Togolese and Burkinabays were brought into the country by the NDC to destroy the water bodies but we are going after them.
"The operations we have started in the Middlebelt will chase these foreigners. They know we're going to win the elections so they've decided to go and import foreigners to destroy the water bodies.
“Until recently, there was no issue of galamsey. Their tactic is to frustrate us to stop those mining responsibly so we will lose the election but that will not happen. Those mining in the river bodies, we'll stop them, they are nation wreckers and God will punish them and their entire generation.” He said during a party gathering.
