The political season is indeed gathering steam and the enthusiastic high spirit of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has energised the NPP 2024 Campaign in the Bekwai Constituency.
NAPO, as popularly known, has made two high-profile visits to the Bekwai constituency within just four days.
This unprecedented move highlights his deep respect for the traditional authorities and the people of Bekwai.
On September 21, 2024, Dr. Opoku Prempeh first visited the Amoafo and Bekwai traditional councils, introducing himself as the NPP running mate for the upcoming elections.
Within a few days, he extended his outreach by visiting the paramount chief and elders of the Kokofu traditional council.
These visits were aimed at seeking blessings, offering respect, and sharing the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) message of hope and progress for Ghana.
During his speeches, Dr. Opoku Prempeh committed to visit all seven paramountcies in Bekwai before the December 7 elections.
He encouraged the chiefs to motivate their people to support the NPP, underlining the government's achievements, such as the Free SHS program and other crucial developmental projects.
He also endorsed Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei as the successor to Hon. Joe Osei Owusu, warning against independent candidates who could undermine the party's unity and success.
The running mate underscored the significant standing of Bekwai within the Ashanti Region, home to seven paramount chiefs and nine Abrempong, all loyal to the Golden Stool.
He vowed to ensure that the NPP would achieve resounding victories in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh's campaign has reinvigorated the NPP's grassroots, party officials, and supporters in the Bekwai constituency, marking a surge in momentum ahead of the December elections.King Edward Ambrose Washman/
