Akwasi Konadu PromisesTo Equip ER Lands Commission To Boost Their Work

Deputy Lands Minister, Akwasi Konadu, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, paid a working visit to the Eastern Regional Lands Commission to familiarize himself with their activities.
During his meeting with the management of the Commission at Koforidua, Hon. Konadu emphasized his commitment to identifying key obstacles hindering their progress and find lasting solutions to it.
He highlighted pressing obstacles which included land encroachment, insufficient office space, expanding facilities to accommodate staff as well as stool lands boundaries and defining traditional land . Konadu assured the Commission that these issues among others will be promptly addressed to enhance work efficiency at all levels.
The Regional Lands Officer, Issah Mahama also outlined major reforms aimed at developing effective land administration through decentralization and digitalization.
The Lands Commission is committed to becoming a center of excellence for land services as mandated by Article 238 of the 1992 Constitution.
The Deputy Minister was accompanied on the working visit by the Technical Director of Forestry, Joseph Osiakwan, Director PPME, Matthew Ababio, and other officers of the Ministry.
