GES Director General Commends Conduct Of WASSCE

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah, last Tuesday toured the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) centre at the Labone Senior High School (SHS) as part of his monitoring activities of various centres of the examination.
The examination, which started on August 5, 2024, will officially end on Friday, September 20, 2024, with the last candidates writing Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, West Africa Traditional Studies and Chemistry.
Dr Nkansah, who was accompanied by the Greater Accra Regional Director of Education Stephen Abamfo, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination so far, commending the examination officials and the candidates for conducting themselves very well.
He also commended the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for conducting a smooth and incident-free examination.
“I am satisfied with the conduct of this examination,” Dr Nkansah said, expressing satisfaction with the general conduct of the exam.
At the Labone SHS where the candidates were writing Integrated Science, the DG of the GES was impressed with the “serene environment”, as of the time he went.
He said a lot of effort had been put in for the conduct of the examination and, therefore, congratulated the supervisors, invigilators, the security personnel deployed at the various centres on playing their respective roles to ensure successful conduct of the examination.
In all, 460,611 candidates, made up of 212,954 males and 247,657 females from 1,003 schools, sat the examination at 1,000 centres across the country, which ends tomorrow (Friday).graphiconline
