National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye a.k.a Nana B says his party will resist any attempts by the Electoral Commission of Ghana to introduce foreign elements into their operations.
Nana B, speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show reiterated that the Electoral Commission is an independent body and must not be manipulated or undermined by any political party.
He challenged the call that EC should invite an independent body to conduct forensic audit of the register asking "what is the overwhelmingly serious case?".
Hence, he described the NDC's demonstration as ”useless”.
“We, in the NPP, we will not allow any foreign interference. We will not allow any whatever name mdash; independent body mdash; to come and sit on a constitutionally created body, mandated, well-established, having districts and offices. To say we should employ the services of another independent body, I mean what has happened? What’s the issue?
“We will not allow it and any attempt from the Electoral Commission to go for another body to conduct a forensic audit, we will resist it fiercely”, he warned.
He further cautioned the Commissioners not to kowtow to the NDC, stressing if they do, "even NDC's demonstration will be too small for them”.
“For me, this is one of the most useless demonstrations ever”, he concluded.
