NDCs EnoughIsEnough Demo How Social Media Is Reacting VIDEOS PHOTOS

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is on a nationwide demonstration today, Tuesday, September 17, against the Electoral Commission (EC's) refusal to permit an independent forensic audit of the current voter's register ahead of the much-anticipated December 7, general elections.

The protest march dubbed "Enough Is Enough" is currently taking place at the approved routes across all 16 regions of Ghana.

The opposition party is also demanding another exhibition after the forensic audit of the register before the election.

But the EC insists the current register is robust and credible and wants the opposition party to come to the discussion table to address discrepancies the latter raised with the provisional voters register.

The Commission claims it has so far addressed all discrepancies identified with the provisional voters register, but will address any further discrepancies that the NDC would bring to the discussion table alongside other stakeholders.

The EC rather indicts the NDC of failing to provide it evidence of the discrepancies in the Provisional Voters Register that the NDC say they discovered during the Exhibition Exercise.

After the recent registration exercise for new voters, the NDC has claimed that the current voters' register has seen some discrepancies with unauthorised transfers.

This, the NDC argues could potentially disenfranchise some voters and compromise the integrity of the elections.
