The New Patriotic Party’s Director of Communication, Richard Ahiagbah, has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the flagbearer of his party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become President in the upcoming December 7 elections to help Ghana catch up with the rest of the world in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
According to Richard Ahiagbah, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is the new frontier in human evolution which involves advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), Web3, blockchain, 3D printing, genetic engineering, quantum computing, and more, amongst others.
Posting on his Official X page, Richard Ahiagbah said, “If you are a young, middle-class, independent, and objective voter, you must carefully weigh your choice of who to vote for on December 7 because our collective advance, or the lack thereof, depends on the vote you cast."
“After carefully examining the visions, capacities, experiences, and leadership traits including work ethic and records of the two leading candidates, I respectfully recommend Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the one to lead Ghana to the next level”.
He further added, “so, let’s vote for Bawumia because he will make Ghana competitive and ensure we keep pace with the rest of the world. Bawumia means business.”
Earlier, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia responded to claims by his critics that he has abandoned matters of the economy, saying that the digitalization agenda will improve the Ghanaian economy.
According to him, there cannot be any meaningful transformation unless the country takes ceases the opportunities that digital infrastructure brings to solve societal obstacles.
The Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who spoke to the media at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra, emphasised that digitilisation and economic growth are directly linked to each other, stating that, embracing the new experiences that digitilisation brings will propel the country to become the hub of massive economic and industrial revolution.
Dr. Bawumia said, “I wrote a book on monetary policy and financial reform and I made a point in the book, this was in 2010, this was 14 years ago before I became vice president, made the point that Africa needs to go digital because the global economy is going digital."
“And if countries stay behind, they’ll miss out on the fourth Industrial Revolution as we missed out on the other revolutions. And there’s a good reason, because digitalization allows us to formalize our economy. Informal economies are very challenging to manage,” the Vice-President underscored.
Richard Ahiagbah stated that, the NPP’s flagbearer has all it takes to bring the newest digital experience to the doorstep of every Ghanaian, thus, the clarion call on all Ghanaians to rally behind the NPP ahead of the December of 2024 polls.Kobina Darlington/
