Ahiagbah Lauds Akufo Addos Healthcare Milestones

The National Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has urged Ghanaians to vote for the party’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 polls to build on the investments made in the country's health sector under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In a social media post on Tuesday, September 3, Ahiagbah touted the Akufo-Addo administration's record in the health sector, the completion of several hospital projects started under previous governments.

"President Akufo-Addo has done the most for health and healthcare delivery since President John Agyekum Kufuor's introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme in 2003," Ahiagbah stated.

He highlighted projects such as the completion of seven hospital projects inherited from the previous NDC government, and the completion of nine hospitals started under Kufuor but abandoned by John Mahama's NDC administration.

Ahiagbah also noted that the Akufo-Addo government has started and completed 37 health projects across the country and has 14 more hospital projects currently underway.

With regards to the 2024 elections, the NPP communications director said "it is significant that on December 7th, we elect a leader who will build on these legacy health sector investments to enhance the well-being of Ghanaians."

He added that "'The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not have a comparable record in the health sector nor offers a candidate with the vision and capability to make these urgent investments in health and healthcare delivery."

Ahiagbah appealed to "the middle-class, independent, undecided youth and all objective voters to support Dr. Bawumia, who has demonstrated a firm commitment in the NPP's 2024 Manifesto to sustain and increase health sector investments."

"Remember, health is wealth. A vote for Dr. Bawumia is a vote for your health. Vote for Dr. Bawumia for a healthier Ghana. Dr. Bawumia means business, so let’s vote for him to deliver for Ghanaians,” stressed the ruling party’s spokesperson.
