Dec 7 Elections Choose Ghanas Peace Over Electoral Violence   Bawumia tells Ghanaians

The Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has joined in the call for peace ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections.

According to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghanaian voters are required to prioritise peace before, during, and after the upcoming December 7 general elections.

During his campaign tour to the Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra region on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia admonished congregants in various churches within the Constituency to strive in maintaining peace and order, stating that while elections are crucial in shaping the nation’s future, they should choose the exchange of ideas over electoral violence.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was thronged by some parliamentary aspirantas and party members including the Greater Accra regional minister, Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, Weija-Gbawe Parliamentary aspirant Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Anyaa-Sowutuom Member of Parliament, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, and other party leaders.

During his visit to the churches, Dr. Bawumia called on the clergy to pray for him as well as the parliamentary candidates in order to come out victorious in the elections.

During his visit to the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency, Dr. Bawumia was warmly received by traders and pedestrians at the Ablekuma-Pokuase intersection, where he shared his “Bold Solutions” to the crowd assuring them that if elected President, he would create employment opportunities by training a million youth in digital skills thereby reducing the rate of youth unemployment in the country.

Dr. Bawumia also engaged with local clergy, imams, chiefs, and opinion leaders at Pentecost University, where he discussed the government’s policies, including the Free SHS and free technical and vocational education training programs.

He highlighted the significance of restoring nursing and teacher training allowances and the construction of Agenda 111 hospitals.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the government’s introduction of the Zongo Development Fund, which aims at developing the Zongo communities through ICT centers, enhanced sanitation, and scholarships for students from these communities to study medicine in Cuba.Kobina Darlington/
