Drunkard Comment NPP Youth Wing Throws Its Support Behind Atta Akyea

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Wing says they fully support a ‘controversial' comment by the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South suggesting the NPP flagbearer is not a drunkard.

Atta Akyea during a mini-rally launched a veiled scathing attack, insinuating that somebody is a drunkard, unlike Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

To him, the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a visionary leader and not a drunkard.

“Dr. Bawumia is a wise man. And he is not a drunkard. He is not a drunkard and he is wise”, Atta Akyea said amidst cheers from the crowd. 

However, even though no name was associated with the drunkard comment, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a statement demanding an apology from the NPP lawmaker for referring to their flagbearer and the former president as a drunkard.

This has compelled the NPP youth wing to rally their support behind the former Minister of Works and Housing after rubbishing the apology demand from the NDC.

“He who seeks equity must come with clean hands,” A portion of their statement reads.
