Ghanas Peace at Risk The Brutal Attack on NPP Chairman in Upper Manya Krobo by the NDC

Ghana stands at a crossroads where the very fabric of our democracy is under siege. The latest incident in the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency has sent shockwaves across the nation, shaking the confidence of those who believe in peaceful and democratic processes.

The brazen attack on the NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr. Philip Kweku Mamphy, orchestrated by the NDC under the leadership of their National Chairman Johnson Aseidu Nketia and Member of Parliament Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, marks a dark chapter in our political history that cannot and must not be ignoredhellip;

What should have been a routine display of DRIP equipment, generously provided to the district by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through the Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, turned into a scene of chaos and violence. The NDC, without provocation and in total disregard of police intervention, violently tried to prevent this display; an act of sabotage solely because their National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is scheduled to visit the constituency.

This act of political thuggery, culminating in the physical assault on Mr. Mamphy, who was hospitalized at the Asesewa Government Hospital, is nothing short of an attack on our democracyhellip;

Where does it end? If political parties can no longer coexist peacefully in their service to the nation, then what future do we hold for the next generation? The National Peace Council, Electoral Commission, Civil Society Organizations, and all relevant stakeholders committed to safeguarding our democratic process must speak out. Silence is complicity. This act of lawlessness displayed by the NDC, their National Chairman, and the MP must be condemned by every well-meaning Ghanaianhellip;

We cannot allow political violence to become the norm in our beloved country. This assault on Mr. Mamphy is not just an attack on one man or one party; it is an attack on the principles of freedom, justice, and peace that our nation was built upon. It is an attack on our democracy and what we stand for. We must rise as one people, irrespective of political affiliations, to denounce this barbarism and demand that those responsible be brought to justicehellip;

The future of Ghana’s democracy hangs in the balance. Will we stand by and allow such thuggery to go unchecked, or will we rise to defend the peaceful democratic process that has made Ghana a beacon of hope in Africa? The time to act is now. Let us ensure that this violence does not go unanswered, and that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. The soul of our nation depends on ithellip;Hon.
