Voter Exhibition Exercise We Need Your Help EC Tells Political Parties Over Low Turnout
Wed, 21 Aug 2024 22:00
The Electoral Commission (EC) has tasked political parties to urge their members to participate in the ongoing Voters’ exhibition exercise.
The first and second days of the exercise have seen a low turnout across various exhibition centres.
The exercise is for voters to verify their details before the upcoming elections. However, upon visiting some of the centers, it was observed that few people were checking their names and details at the centres.
The Head of the Electoral Commission (EC) Training Department, Dr Serebour Quaicoe speaking on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' said the political parties should encourage their members to take part in the exercise.
"We need them (political parties) to help us rid the register of deceased names...so they should encourage their members, especially in the grassroots to patronize the exhibition at the centres; that will be more helpful to our course," he said.
The Voter Exhibition, an significant activity leading up to the 2024 General Election, will end on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024.
