Dont Use Our DRIP Equipment To Settle Personal Scores NPP Youth Organizer Warns

NPP National Youth Organizer, Salam Mustapha has warned the heads of the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to use the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to benefit their communities.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, July 31, unveiled the DRIP by commissioning over 2000 essential equipment at the Black Star Square.

This project is to enhance the country’s road networks and marks a pivotal milestone in the government’s efforts to decentralize development and improve the lives of Ghanaians.

The equipment will be shared among the MMDAs with additional financial commitments to make the programme effective.

Commenting on the DRIP during a panel discussion on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, Salam Mustapha cautioned the MMDAs against misuse of the equipment or refusing to use it to construct roads in areas where they have misunderstanding with the people or for conflicting partisan reasons.

"This is not the time to come and settle personal scores. Take the machines to where they are needed and get the roads done for the people and the communities," he hollered.

He admonished them to use the equipment for its purposes, stressing; "It will be a waste of natural resources if these machines are not put to good use. We plead with those leading this project that don't let us down."
